The streets of Newtown are lined with trees that I did not realize were Mango Trees. I’d noticed that a lot of these trees had different colored paper bags hanging from them. I thought that the bags were part of some kind of celebration that took place here. So while I was enjoying my Starbucks Latte, I learned that the bags were covering mango fruit. Apparently they cover the fruit so the birds won’t eat them.

Covered Mango fruit.

Harvester getting the fruit that was out of reach of the from the ground.

You may not have been able to tell but these are trees that shade the main street on Newtown. The city counsel will decide what to do with the fruit, either sell it or give it the less fortunate.

I hope you all have a good week, I was unable to go diving so far this week. I’m hoping to go tomorrow. If I get any good pictures, I’ll post them in the underwater Photo section of this site.

Cheers, Live your best life!
